Series Analysis:
Tampa Bay has come back from down 2-0 to up 3-2 with a chance to close the series out at home. They snapped the Rangers eight game home winning streak, and have completely shifted the momentum. The stat lines were very similar, and both teams could have very easily won this game but the Lightning were able to convert late in the 3rd period, while the Rangers missed a wide open net and that was the difference in the game. Both Vasilevskiy and Shesterkin were unbelievable in net, but Tampa did everything they needed to do to steal a game on the road. Going into game six, the Rangers have to convert on their opportunities because Vasilevskiy has been unstoppable, as well as the Lightning defense. Tampa on the other hand, just needs to do what they have been doing on the defensive end, and if they can do it they’ll be heading to their third straight Stanley Cup finals. This has been a rollercoaster of a series, and this game could go anyway, but my pick is the Rangers.
