I am stating this right now in mid-October, the Sabres will be a playoff team. This may be a bold statement considering how bad they have been the last 10 years, but this team is sneaky good.

Buffalo is off to a good start, going 2-1 in their first three games, and and with guys like Tuch, Thompson, and Dahlin they will be a high-scoring offense and overall exciting to watch. Although they do have a question mark at goalie in Erick Crombie, he did play well against the Oilers on Tuesday showing that he has the capability to hold his own against a high-powered offense.

On the other hand, the Flames are going to be dangerous again this year. Although they had a disappointing ending to their season, they made some key adjustments this offseason to patch some areas that needed help. They fleeced the Panthers in the Tkachuk trade by getting Huberdeau and Weegar, in addition to picking up Kadri. Although they lost two big pieces, Gaudreau and Tkachuk, I think they’ll be just fine. There only question mark is between the pipes in Markstrom, and he’ll be a huge factor in whether the Flames can make a run for the cup this year.

Moving onto the game, it is going to be high scoring with two teams that can put the puck in the net, and if I was a betting man, which I am, I would take the over in goals and the Sabres to win. Again I think this Buffalo team is underrated and are going to show the hockey world that they are legitso take the Sabres to win and get your free $200 from DraftKings!
