Series Analysis:
The Colorado Avalanche looked freaking unstoppable after sweeping one of the most explosive teams in hockey, and they are now looking for their first Stanley Cup win since 2001. This team is deadly and can dominate on both the offensive and defensive end of the ice. They have only lost two games the entire playoffs, and I would be afraid to play them right now. The only question mark surrounding them is that they lost Nazem Kadri, a huge key to their success this year, for the remainder of the playoffs, which could possibly hurt them versus a team like Tampa.
On the other end, the Lightning have had their ups and downs throughout the playoffs, but have always showed up when it mattered the most. They have a solid core with experience and are looking for their third straight Stanley Cup title; an accomplishment which hasn’t been done since the 1982 Islanders. This is going to be an amazing series, and a matchup that I think will be exciting to watch. That being said, I am rolling with the Avalanche to win the Stanley Cup, and I think they do it in seven games. I think that they are the more complete team overall, but Tampa has a core that has been there before and this matchup really could go either way.
