It’s been an up and down season for these two teams. Both are trying to move on from losing their longtime franchise (probably hall of fame) quarterbacks, and it hasn’t gone amazing so far. Here’s what you need to know about this matchup between the 4-7 Steelers and the 5-7 Falcons so you can (responsibly) make the most out of this sweet DraftKings offer.
Despite their overall struggles, the Falcons definitely are feeling good about their Drake London pick. He’s been great with and without the ball, but the problem has been getting him said ball as QB Marcus Mariota has struggled a bit. Tyler Allgeier has also been very good, and that tandem of him and Patterson has been a scary sight for opponent defenses. Speaking of defenses, the Steelers haven’t been great against the pass and are letting up 276 yards a game through the air which should make Mariota’s job easier. Could this be a bounce back game after a tough loss to Washington last week?
Now Kenny Pickett is still trying to hit his stride this season, posting a TD to interception ratio of 3:8, which is… bad. That being said, they’ve found a way to beat solid teams with good defenses, like the Bengals, Saints, and Buccaneers. They won’t have to worry about Kyle Pitts as he is out, and a defense that has struggled without TJ Watt, probably the best defensive player in the league, has him back to wreak more havoc than a drunk Taco Bell run. Despite Najee being questionable, the Steelers ground game should have a day as the Falcons let up over 125 rush yards a game, and Benny Snell was very efficient with his touches in the win over the Colts. The Steelers have a better coach in Tomlin, and I think that will really come into play this game. Call me crazy if you want, but I think the value is on the Steelers here.
