Week one of the NFL season this year was a mix of some of the most boring (that’s a direct jab at the Bucs v. Cowboys game) and some of the most exciting matchups that we could’ve expected. The Broncos were a part of one of the more exciting games when they fell to the Seahawks 17-16 after head coach Nathaniel Hackett decided that he’d rather go for the 64-yard field goal to win the game instead of letting Russ have the ball in his hands on 4th and 5. The Texans, on the other hand, managed to let the Colts score 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter in a game that ended in a tie. The two teams will face off this week in Denver for their week two matchups.

Despite a disappointing loss to the Seahawks last week in Russel Wilson’s emotionally charged return to Seattle, the Broncos are a strong pick to beat the Texans. Sure, they put up a solid fight against the Colts, but leaving the door open for a fourth quarter comeback the way they did does not bode well for this week’s matchup. And yes, Hackett seemed to have about as much faith in Russell Wilson as my parents have in my ability to graduate college, but there’s no doubt he’ll be forced to let the veteran QB do some work in this game. Getting the first game jitters out will likely lead to RB tandem Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon not fumbling the ball (and the game) at the one yard line. Make the easy pick with a $5 bet on the Broncos, and you’ll get a free $200 from DraftKings!
