Timberwolves against the Grizzlies. If you had told me about this matchup before the season started, I might’ve been excited. Hell, I may have even turned on the TV to watch a Timberwolves game on purpose! But as the season has gone on, the Timberwolves decided to Timberwolve, and now we’re right back to square one. This will be an easy win for the Grizzlies.

At the beginning of the season, the Timberwolves traded to get an all-star caliber player to add to their solid starting lineup. Adding Ruby Gobert to play with Karl Anthony-Towns, D’Angelo Russell, and Ant-Man seems like a pretty sweet deal, no? The issue they’re running into now is the same one the Nets have run into. No, Karl Anthony-Towns is not retweeting anti-Semitic videos. I mean that they no longer have any bench depth. They got guys getting real minutes during NBA games that have absolutely no reason to be. It doesn’t help that statistically, the new-look Timberwolves starting lineup is the worst in the NBA. Like the actual worst. Yes, that includes the 2-9 Magic.

The 7-4 Grizzlies, meanwhile, have been having a much better start to the season. Ja Morant has been 28.5 points per game on 47.5% shooting. That’s alright, I guess. Plus, they have a top-four point scorer in the fourth quarter in Desmond Bane, so you know they don’t have a problem closing out games. Plus, the Grizzlies were on a three-game winning streak before they ran into the Boston Celtics, and with any luck, they’ll be rolling into the Timberwolves game, picking up a nice win against the 5-6 Spurs on a four-game losing streak.

Don’t overthink this one. The Grizzlies are the better team, and it’s not even close. Take the Grizzlies Moneyline to get your free $200 with DraftKings!
