USC against Arizona. On paper, this game is a great game. Two teams tied for second place in the Pac-12. Both of these teams have over twenty wins. Both of these teams have great rosters. However, we’ve already seen this matchup play out, and the end result wasn’t pretty. Arizona will win this one again.

Now the Trojans have been great this season. There are a few things that worry me about this team, but we’ll get to those in a bit. I will say that guard Boogie Ellis is someone to buy a ticket to go see solely for his scoring ability. The dude is dropping 17 points a night while shooting around 44% from the field. But, who is leading this 21 and 8 team in rebounds, you might ask. I’ve told you who the offensive engine is, but what about the painted beast? What great big man do they have that helps lock down the paint? Well, that would be their 6’ 9”, 205-pound guard Drew Peterson. He’s leading the team in rebounds per game and assists per game, and I don’t know whether to think he’s gonna be this generation’s magic or if the big play in USC is just that bad. (Hint, hint this team isn’t even nationally ranked).

The Wildcats, in a complete 180 from USC, have one of the best frontcourts in college basketball. This is what makes this game such a matchup nightmare for USC, leading to the 81-66 routing the Wildcats gave the Trojans in their last matchup. Forward Azuolas Tubelis is averaging 19.6 points per game and 9.1 rebounds per game. Center Oumar Ballo is averaging 14.3 points per game and 8.8 rebounds per game. I mean, those are two legitimate twin towers down in the paint. If your best rebounder is listed as a guard, then good luck playing this Wildcats team. It doesn’t hurt that they also have Kerr Kriisa, who is top 25 in the league on assist per game average with 5.5 per game.

While on paper, these two teams are comparable, Arizona is a much better team. We have seen this game get played out before. Bet on Arizona and get up to $1,111 in bonus bets!
