Man was week one fun, but ladies and gentlemen the NFL season is just getting started! This week we have another exciting slate of games and I’m here to talk to you about the Vikings taking on the Eagles on Thursday night. Here is what you should know.
Man was that a tough week one for the Vikings. Despite yet another monster performance from Justin Jefferson, they fell to the Baker Mayfield-led Buccaneers losing by a field goal. Kirk played alright throwing for 344 yards, a pair of touchdowns, and a pick, but where he really hurt the team was losing two fumbles. Three turnovers coming from a quarterback is going to make it really hard to win. The Vikings’ receiving corps still looks amazing, but their run game was almost non-existent. The defense did look better than last year and only let up 246 total yards, but just did not have the offensive production necessary to win that game. Will they be able to turn it around in Philly?
If you ask me I would say probably not. The Eagles just made it to the Super Bowl, and while their week one win over the Patriots wasn’t perfect there were some good signs. The passing game struggled against a great Patriots defense, but they were able to rely on the run game when necessary and it seems like that three-headed beast of Gainwell, Swift, and Scott will be a force to be reckoned with this season. Despite making a lot of mistakes and boneheaded turnovers, the Eagles were able to find a way to win this game. It’s hard to lose when you have Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, and an amazing defense. Based on how the Vikings looked last week, I think the Eagles fueled by their expectations and their crazy-ass fans should be able to remain undefeated with a win this weekend.
