Get ready for Week 8 of the college football season! Week 7 was filled with high-drama games and fans will be looking for much of the same this coming week. Expect to see an uptick in intensity as teams will look to take things to another level as bowl season and the College Football Playoff are right around the corner. With the season quickly maturing, every win and loss becomes more important. One of the key matchups in Week 8 will be the Alabama Crimson Tide taking on the Tennessee Volunteers in a matchup between two SEC heavyweights.
Both the Crimson Tide and the Volunteers will be looking to avenge themselves. Alabama fell to the unranked South Carolina Gamecocks which dropped them to 7th place in the rankings. Tennesse lost to the unranked Florida Gators and they now sit in 11th place. With both teams looking to get back on the winning track, and fighting to get in position for the upcoming bowl games expect them to play with some desperation.
Alabama fans will be looking for starting quarterback Jalen Milroe to find the same magic that helped them upset the Georgia Bulldogs in Week 5. In the last two weeks, he has thrown more interceptions (3) than touchdowns (2) and has been sacked six times.
The Volunteers will be looking to their starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava to have the same type of bounceback performance. After throwing four touchdowns in the first three weeks he has not thrown any touchdowns in the last two weeks. They’ll need a much better performance from him against the Crimson Tide.
So whether you are rooting for a clear favorite or hoping for a miracle by the underdog, the most important thing to remember is that you must be in it to win it.
