One of the more anticipated games for Week 5 of the NFL season will be the Buffalo Bills taking on the Houston Texans. As the season progresses every game means a little bit more as teams need all the leverage that they can get as the race to the NFL Playoffs heats up.
The Texans and the Bills were expected to be among the elite teams this season. And heading into Week 5, both squads have been just as good as advertised, if not better.
The Bills will be looking for revenge heading into their matchup with the Texans. After starting the season 3-0 they suffered an embarrassing 35-10 loss at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football last week.
Stopping the run will be something that the Bills’ defense will want to zero in on this week after giving up 197 rushing yards and two touchdowns to Ravens star running back Derrick Henry.
For the Houston Texans, despite coming off a win in Week 4 they still have something to play for in Week 5. They beat a winless Jacksonville Jaguars team by just four points.
The opponents over whom they have scored victories also look a little funny in the light. The Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, and Chicago Bears have a combined three wins this season. Their one loss came at the hand of the undefeated Minnesota Vikings in a game where they got trounced 34-7.
This will also be the first game in which former teammates Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen will take the field on opposite sides. Diggs was traded to the Texans during the offseason after getting bounced out of the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs last season.
So whether you are rooting for a clear favorite or hoping for a miracle by the underdog, the most important thing to remember is that you must be in it to win it.
