After a great event in UFC 308, we return to the action with a night headlined by a fight between Brandon Moreno and Amir Albazi, two fearsome fighters.
Man have we been blessed with some great MMA action recently, and it looks like that trend should continue this weekend. There is only one favorite on the main card who is more than -200 odds which means there should be a lot of good, close, and evenly matched fights.
Thug Rose returns to the octagon for the third time this year, as a slight underdog against Erin Blachfield. Rose is probably my favorite woman fighter, and I’m pretty excited to see how she fares as an underdog. Her battles with Zhang Weilei are legendary, and has won her previous two bouts. Now Blanchfield is a little younger and more aggressive on the ground, but will that be enough to overcome the experience of Namajunas?
The headline also should prove to be an entertaining matchup. On paper, Moreno looks like he should have the advantage. Taller, longer reach, and a touch younger but with more experience are all factors that bode well for Brandon. That being said, Amir has only ever lost one professional fight and boats a record of 17-1. The guy is a winner, but will that trend continue?
So whether you are rooting for a clear favorite or hoping for a miracle by the underdog, the most important thing to remember is that you must be in it to win it.
