Atlanta Falcons v Detroit Lions

One of this week’s most anticipated showdowns will take place on Sunday Night Football when the Houston Texans take on the Detroit Lions in what should be a highly entertaining matchup.

The Houston Texans have been decimated by injuries this season. Both of their star wide receivers Tank Dell and Nico Collins have been sidelined for the year. It has been a bit of a struggle for starting quarterback CJ Stroud and the Texans offense. They have only eclipsed the 25-point mark twice this season. But even despite their struggles, they sit on top of the AFC South division with a record of 6-3. But the second-place Indianapolis Colts are not too far out of reach from becoming a threat to Houston with a 4-5 record. Which makes this game against the Lions that much more important.

The Detroit Lions offense has been the complete opposite of the Texans offense. They have been a well-oiled machine as the NFL’s top-rated offense, averaging a scorching 30.3 points per game. That has largely been in part to their three-headed monster of Jamyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, and Amon-Ra St. Brown. In addition, their starting quarterback Jared Goff has been among the best in the league at his position this season. Sitting atop the NFC North with an impressive record of 7-1 many fans believe they are poised for a Super Bowl run this season. But they cannot afford to take their foot off the gas even this late into the season. The NFC North division has been the best in the NFL this year with a combined record of 23-10 and the second-place Green Bay Packers are just a game behind in the standings.
