Get ready for Week 8 of the college football season. After an explosive Week 7, teams are preparing to take things to another level as bowl season and the College Football Playoff are right around the corner. As the season moves along, every win and loss becomes more important. One of the key matchups in Week 8 will be the Georgia Bulldogs taking on the Texas Longhorns in a matchup between two SEC heavyweights.
In Week 7, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers returned to the lineup and helped lead the Longhorns to a convincing victory in the Red River Rivalry. But this will perhaps be Texas’ toughest test of the season going up against a Bulldogs squad that has title hopes this season. Texas will need all hands on deck for this matchup, especially from their stars Quintrevion Wisner and Isaiah Bond, who lead the team in rushing yards and receiving yards respectively.
The Georgia Bulldogs are still recovering from their loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide in Week 5. After coming in as a heavy preseason favorite to win the College Football Playoff, they have slipped out of the top four and the playoff picture. If the Bulldogs are hoping to get back into the playoff picture they’ll have to string together some statement wins to sway the selection committee. They have a few opportunities to do so as three of their next six games are against ranked teams. But knocking off the number one team in the country will be an extremely tall task.
So whether you are rooting for a clear favorite or hoping for a miracle by the underdog, the most important thing to remember is that you must be in it to win it.
