The Suns and the Grizzlies. Two powerhouse Western Conference teams. We are in for a treat this Friday. While I do love what Devin Booker and the Suns have been doing, I’m a bigger fan of what’s going on in Memphis. This is anyone’s game, but I’m rocking with the Grizzlies.
The Phoenix Suns are a great basketball team this season. They’re 19-12, and third in the West right now. Devin Booker has been absolutely trying his best to play into the MVP conversation this season. He is scoring 28 points per game, 5.8 assists per game, and almost a steal per game. Let’s keep in mind that he has been averaging 28 points per game on 47.7% shooting which I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you is freaking insane. And it’s not like he’s by himself out there either. Deandre Ayton has been playing up to his paycheck with 17.1 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game. He, in a lot of senses, has been dominating the paint and I am loving it. Mikal Bridges is still on the team contributing his 16.3 points per game, and Chris Paul the point god has been giving the Suns almost nine assists per game.
Now while I do love what Monty has been doing in the desert, the Grizzlies are no joke themselves. Memphis is the best team record-wise in the Western Conference right now at `19-10. Ja Morant is simply ridiculous. Ja is averaging 26.7 points per game, 7.7 assists per game, and 1.1 steals per game leading his team in all categories. Desmond Bane as a number two has been lights out as well. He has been scoring 24.7 points per game while shooting 46.5% from the field. And speaking of dominating the paint let’s talk about Steven Adams. 10.2 rebounds per game, and 1.2 blocks per game. Those are some pretty ridiculous numbers.
