The Washington Commanders fell short of becoming NFC East champs. But they still have a puncher’s chance in the playoffs thanks to the heroics of their starting quarterback Jayden Daniels. Daniels has led the Commanders to two walk-off victories en route to an overall record of 12-5. And his 25 to 9 touchdown to interception ration is not too shabby either. But perhaps even more important that Daniels is his favorite target, wide receiver Terry McLaurin. McLaurin racked up over 1000 receiving yards this season but over the past three games has not cracked 100 yards. They’ll need a major performance from him if they want to advance.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were in a dog fight for the NFC South. And will some help from the Atlanta Falcons via a loss to the Carolina Panthers they were able to capture the divisional crown. But now its time for the Falcons to take care of business against a hungry Commanders squads. And despite having a star quarterback, wide receiver combo in Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans, things could get difficult for Tampa Bay against the 13th ranked Commanders defense.
The oddsmakers are giving the Buccaneers the edge coming into this one. Tampa Bay comes in as the slight favorite in this matchup by a close 3-point margin over Green Bay. Oddsmakers also believe that this matchup will be a high-scoring affair with the over/under marked at 50.5 points.
So whether you are rooting for a clear favorite or hoping for a miracle by the underdog, the most important thing to remember is that you must be in it to win it.
