Despite making a late push toward the end of the regular season, the Colorado Buffaloes failed to secure a bid for the College Football Playoff and were left on the outside looking in. The star duo of Shedeur Sanders and 2024 Heisman Award winner Travis Hunter will be on display in this matchup. The BYU Cougars were also among the most impressive teams in college football this season. They finished in second place in the Big 12 conference this season with a record of 7-2 in conference play and an overall record of 10-2. However, the Cougars’ strength of schedule leaves a lot to be desired. They only played two ranked teams this year. They beat 10th-ranked SMU in September and then loss to 12-ranked Arizona State in November.
The Buffaloes are slightly favored in this matchup by a four-point margin over the Cougars. However, oddsmakers do believe that this matchup will be a high-scoring affair with the over/under marked at 54.5 points.
