With just two games remaining in the regular season, the importance of every game is magnified. With the Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons both fighting to win their respective division crown, all eyes were on Sunday Night Football in Week 17.

In just his first season as the Commanders starting quarterback, Jayden Daniels has already made his mark on the NFL. He has two walk-off game-winning touchdowns this season alone. After their win over the red-hot Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16, the Commanders are in a good position to win their first division crown since the 2020 season. They’ll need some help along the way, but the first priority is to take care of business against the Falcons.

This game was supposed to be a battle of veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins taking on his former team. But Cousins has been so bad this season, that he was benched for rookie quarterback Michael Penix in Week 16. Penix’s debut for the Falcons wasn’t much of an upgrade. He threw for just 202 yards, 1 interception, and zero touchdowns. But what is most important is that they trounced the New York Giants 34-7. With the Falcons clinging on to a narrow lead in the NFC South, they’ll need a bigger performance from their rookie quarterback this week.

Oddsmakers have the Commanders favored in this matchup by a four-point margin over the Packers. They also believe that this matchup will be a shootout with the over/under marked at 47.5 points.

So whether you are rooting for a clear favorite or hoping for a miracle by the underdog, the most important thing to remember is that you must be in it to win it.
