The Big Ten was arguably the best conference in college football this season, accounting for three of the teams still standing in the College Football playoff. The Oregon Ducks sat atop the conference this season with an unblemished record of 13-0 including a Big Ten Championship win over Penn State. Their strength of schedule might be the most impressive part of their record. They went 4-0 against ranked opponents winning by a combined 43 points.
The Ohio State Buckeyes ended the regular season on a pretty sour note, losing to the unranked Michigan Wolverines, one of their biggest rivals. But they have to be feeling pretty good after their win against the Tennessee Volunteers in the first round of the College Football Playoff. They won convincingly by a score of 42-17. One advantage that the Buckeyes have against the rest of the field is that they are battle-tested. Their final six games of the regular season were against FBS opponents and three of those schools are ranked in the top 20
The Ducks come in as the slight favorite in this matchup. They are favored by 2.5 points over the Buckeyes. Oddsmakers have this one as a high-scoring affair with the over/under marked at 55.5 points.
