This week’s Sunday Night Football matchup is between two struggling squads doing their best to get back on track. It’s Trace McSorley and the Cardinals in his first NFL start hosting the best to ever do it Tom Brady and his band of Buccaneers. Let’s break it down so you can (responsibly) make the most of this sweet FanDuel offer.
In one of the most shocking full team regressions of all time, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have gone from one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl to a 6-8 team who is lucky to play in the NFC South. Their struggles remain primarily offensive, and while they’re averaging over 350 yards of total offense a game, the struggle to find the end zone and the drives peter out once they step foot in the redzone. Luckily for them the Cardinals have also had a letdown season riddled with more injuries than Big Ben. Kyler went down, Colt McCoy went down, and now the legendary Trace McSorley is competing against Tom Brady. QB advantage definitely goes to Tampa Bay along with strength of defense. The Cards are on a four game skid losing to teams like the Broncos and Patriots and I’m not sure there’s a light at the end of this tunnel.
Now for the Cardinals. First thing, they’re at home across and country from Tampa Bay playing in a night Primetime game. Recently Tom has really struggled in these late window games. The Buccaneers offensive line is more banged up than a frat boy Sunday morning, and that Cardinals front will wreak havoc on a very immobile Brady. Tampa Bay also has some injuries in their secondary, making McSorley’s job easier. He also has a great supporting cast of playmakers like Conner, Hopkins, and Hollywood Brown who can bail him out and turn small plays into big ones. The Cardinals are averaging three more points a game than the Bucs and while I don’t think it will be an easy win, I think the home dogs can take home a victory on Sunday.
Call me crazy but I like McSorley. Take the Cardinals money-line as your risk free bet from FanDuel!
