Coming into this season, star running back Ashton Jeanty was one name that had flown under the radar in terms of Heisman consideration. But he quickly burst onto the scene and never looked back. His stats to start the season were so surreal, that you had to do a double-take. Through Boise State’s four games, Jeanty accrued 845 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns en route to a 3-1 record. Jeanty ultimately finished the season with 2,497 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns, leading Boise State to a 12-1 record and a College Football Playoff berth.
The Colorado Buffaloes did not qualify for the College Football Playoff. But they did give fans one of the most entertaining seasons in recent memory. A big reason for that was Buffaloes’ star Travis Hunter, who was one of the most unreal talents that the game has ever seen. Hunter, playing both wide receiver and cornerback was elite at both positions this season. As a receiver, Hunter registered 92 receptions and 14 touchdowns. As a defender, he had a coverage grade of 90.9 which is second among all cornerbacks in college football.
