The Kansas City Chiefs have been among the most impressive teams in the NFL with a record of 11-1. But when examining their 2024 season you can see there are some clear inconsistencies. They have narrowly beaten teams they would have trounced in the past which has become a cause for concern, as some fear that the utter dominance that we have seen from past Chiefs teams may be a thing of the past. But the Cheifs have a chance to get a statement win over a very game Los Angeles Chargers team, which could be a huge momentum swing as they gear up for what they hope is a long playoff run.
The past few seasons it has seemed as if the Los Angeles Chargers have had the makings of a title contender but have failed to even reach the playoffs. But this year it seems as though their fortunes have been reversed and that has started with the offseason hiring of their new head coach John Harbaugh. Harbaugh has been viewed as a quarterback guru working with the likes of Colin Kaepernick and Andrew Luck. He is now seeing the maturation of another starting QB in Justin Herbert, who is having the best year of his career in 2024.
Despite the Chiefs only having one loss this season, the second-place Chargers can still mathematically win the AFC West. That raises the stakes in this critical division rivalry matchup.
