Game Analysis:

Florida, ranked 22nd, will be playing week 5 against Kentucky. Right now Florida is third in the SEC division with a record of 3-1. In week 3 the Gators had a huge win over the Tennessee Volunteers. Florida is looking good this year while Kentucky is doing really well right now. Kentucky is undefeated this season at 4-0. Both of these teams are coming off of big wins so this game will be interesting at the least.

Last week the Gators beat the Charlotte 49ers 22-7. Notable players in this game were quarterback Graham Mertz, Ricky Pearsall, and Montrell Johnson. Mertz went 20/23 with pass attempts, had 259 passing yards, and 1 touchdown. This was an incredible game for Mertz completing 87% of his passes. Nonetheless, the quarterback doesn’t only need to make good passes but also have to have good receivers that can catch the ball. Receiver Ricky Pearsall, had 104 receiving yards with an average of 17.3 yards a catch. Ricky is a unit and will be a player to watch in this game against Kentucky.

Kentucky is a sneaky football team and with them being 4-0, they are looking to stay undefeated in week 5. Although Kentucky won the last game against Vanderbilt, quarterback Devin Leary did not have the most amazing game. He was 15/29 with passing attempts, 52%, had 205 passing yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Some players to watch on the offense in this game against the Gators are going to be Re’Mahn Davis and Barion Brown. Last game Brown had 105 receiving yards with 4 receptions, averaging 26.2 yards per reception.

This game is going to be a battle because both teams are coming off major wins. Sure Florida might be ranked higher, but the Wildcats have been playing great ball, are at home, and are favored in this game. I’m agreeing with Vegas in this one that Kentucky should remain undefeated and win an electric game.
