With the betting season almost upon us, this is the perfect game for the Celtics to get some momentum going into the end of the season. The Trailblazers are trying their best to get into the play-in while the Celtics are one of the top teams in the NBA. This is absolutely the Celtic’s game to lose.
The Trailblazers aren’t all bad. They do have one of the best players in the NBA right now Damian Lillard. He is potentially the best crunch-time player of all time and what he’s doing still on the Blazers is a mystery to me. I respect him for not ‘running from the grind’ as he puts it but if he was in a big market the league would be so much better. With the help that he has on Portland, it’s no wonder he’s forced to try and score 71 points on some nights in his attempts to drag this team into the postseason kicking and screaming.
The Celtics on the other hand are in the hunt for a championship. They’ve had a slight hitch in their plans this year with their recent form of poor play but the Trailblazers are the game they need to turn this losing streak around. Jayson Tatum is still doing Jayson Tatum things, getting better and better every single year, and this time the team he has around him is elite at every level. I mean this Celtic team’s sixth man has a very good shot at joining the 50-40-90 club for the second time in his career. That is insane as a guy who is coming off the bench. Not to mention a starting lineup of Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Al Horford, and Robert Williams III. Give me them over anyone in the league right now when healthy.
