Previewing The First Big College Game Of The Season In Georgia Vs. Clemson

I know we had week 0 last week, and technically college season is already back, but this week is the real week. On Saturday, we have games from noon all the way until 11, with Utah State vs. Washington State ending the day. The highlight of Saturday is Georgia vs. Clemson.

If you gamble on this game, just shut your brain off and don’t overthink this. First of all, gamble with Wynn Bet where you get a $1,000 risk-free bet if you deposit $20. If you don’t do this, you’re throwing money out of the window. Back to the game, when I’m writing this, the line is currently Clemson -3. Why is Clemson -3 only?

People are hyping up this Georgia team. I’ve seen some college football analysts think they’ll be in the playoffs this year. Both the AP and USA Today polls have Georgia ranked 5th in the preseason. Georgia is running back the same quarterback as they did last year in JT Daniels. JT last year had a 122.2 passing rating, had 10 passing touchdowns, and 1231 yards. For Clemson, this will be the first year without Trevor Lawrence since 2018. His replacement is DJ Uiagalelei; that will be the only time I type his last name. Hell, I didn’t even try to type it. I just copied it from Google. Regardless, DJ coming out of high school was the #1 ranked quarterback according to Rivals, and last year DJ had some playing time as a true freshman when Lawrence tested positive for COVID and had to miss two games. During his freshman year, he completed 78-of-117 passes for 914 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions in 235 snaps over 10 games (two starts) while also adding four rushing touchdowns amid his 28 carries for 60 yards. His 146.4 pass efficiency rating was fifth-best by an ACC freshman quarterback. If it weren’t for Trevor Lawrence being a college god DJ would have been starting as a freshman. Don’t be afraid of a new quarterback taking over Clemson. Clemson is a great team and wins games which is what they will do on Saturday.

On the defensive side of the ball, both of these teams have great defenses. Last year Georgia was 6th in opponent’s yards per game, 1st in opponents rushing yards per game, and 85th in opponents passing yards per game. I know that 85th doesn’t sound good, but you need to remember that teams like Army and Kent State don’t ever throw the ball, so passing yards are skewed. The defense for Georgia this year will be just as good as they may have lost the best defensive player in their history in Ojulari, but Adam Anderson will lead them this year.

Clemson last year was 22nd opponents yards per game, 18th in opponents rushing yards per game, and 59th in opponents passing yards per game. Of course, Clemson is known for their explosive offense, but they have had such great success because they are great on both sides of the ball. This year they will have four former five-star recruits on the defensive side of the ball and will have one of the best defensive lines in the country.

My favorite bet for this game isn’t Clemson -3; even though I do love the pick, what I really love is under 50.5 points. I believe that this game will have a national championship vibe, and both of these defenses will be humming. I know that people will be rooting for points, but these defenses are both great. So my two bets for this game are Clemson -3 and under 50.5 points.

Normally I write about stupid shit, but I love gambling and take it seriously. If you love gambling as I do, remember to sign up at Wynn Bet where you will find great boosted odds.
