Capital One’s “The Match” Parings Announced

“The Match” has become an incredibly popular golf event in which we get to see famous athletes (sometimes golfers, sometimes not) compete against one another in a 12-hole event. This year, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen will be facing off against Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers – an awesome display of the new talent taking on the old in a sport outside of the one they play. The Match will be played on June 1st of this year.

The Colts Sign Stephen Gilmore

Cornerback Stephen Gilmore has been a free agent, and he has now landed in Indianapolis. With Carson Wentz out and off to Washington and Matt Ryan taking over (at least for now), Gilmore looks to solidify the defense on an already impressive Colts team.

Deebo Samuel, AJ Brown, and Terry McLaurin Want More Cash

According to Adam Schefter, Samuel, Brown, and McLaurin all plan to not participate in their off-season programs as they all have one year left on their rookie contract and want new deals.  The Raiders big deal with Davante Adams (he’ll be making roughly $28 million a year) has definitely had some influence into what these younger guys want.

Denzel Ward Big Contract Extension

The Browns signed 24-year-old CB Denzel Ward to a five-year deal. The contract stipulates $100.5 million with $71 million guaranteed. This is the highest contract for a cornerback in NFL history.
