Tate Myre, 16; Hana St. Juliana, 14, and Madisyn Baldwin, 17 were shot and killed inside of a week ago when a 15-year-old sophomore from Oxford High in Michigan, entered the school armed with a semiautomatic handgun and killed the three students, injured seven others as well as a teacher.
In the days the followed many learned about Tate the football player and his heroic actions, being shot trying to stop the shooter.
Michigan honored Tate with a patch on its jersey and is now selling it for $5 a piece, with proceeds benefiting #OxfordStrong.
100% of the proceeds from the purchase of this patch will go to the Oxford Strong Account Set-up Through Genisys Credit Union which will benefit the families of those impacted by the events on November 30, 2021.
The Class of 2023 prospect was listed at 6-foot, nearly 200-pounds and was recently named first team all-region at both tight end and linebacker. He had a 3.9 GPA and had multiple opportunities waiting for him once he graduated.
Reports from the shooting indicated that it all unfolded in about five minutes — which had to have felt like five years — and police said the shooter was arrested after police stopped him coming down a hallways with a handgun that still was loaded.
The Detroit Free Press reported that Myre was being rushed to the hospital in a patrol car when he ultimately passed away.
