Frito-Lay and PepsiCo confirmed to QZ.com that Doritos shrunk their bags and there is less liquid in your bottle due to pandemic pressures.
“Inflation is hitting everyone…we took just a little bit out of the bag so we can give you the same price and you can keep enjoying your chips,” the told the outlet.
Yup. You are getting about five less Doritos in each bag, and they cost more.
As for my sports/weekend recovery drink of choice. I am getting less of that, too.
“Basically we redesigned the bottle, it’s more aerodynamic and it’s easier to grab,” said a company representative. “The redesign generates a new cost and the bottles are a little bit more expensive…this is only a matter of design.”
So… let me get this straight… Gatorade redesigned its bottle to cost more, but hold less, and it passed that expense to me, while also giving me less to drink?
