Keanu Reeves has masterfully survived attack after attack on the big screen but all of his skill could not hep him evade Communism.
Following the stars show of support for Tibet, Reeves has broken the country’s strict censorship regime, placing his future within the world’s largest film market in jeopardy.
The “John Wick” and “Matrix” star had said that he would participate in a March 3 benefit concert for Tibet House– a nonprofit affiliated with the exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama. Communist leaders reject any claims of Tibetan independence and the evil regime views the Nobel Peace Prize laureate as a ‘dangerous separatist.’ Needless to say, they did not like Reeve’s participation.
Now he has been punished.
China’s major streamers have spent the better part of the last week removing Reeves’ filmography from their sites. Most all have also wiped search results related to his name in Chinese — which has been reported to be “Jinu Liweisi.”
Deleted films include literally all of his best work: “The Matrix” trilogy, “Speed,” “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” and so-so chickflick’s “Something’s Gotta Give” and “The Lake House.”
