Hope Solo Pleads Guilty

Well the former US women’s national team keeper pled guilty yesterday was sentenced for the DUI incident that occured in March in North Carolina.

The 40 year old was found passed out behind the wheel of her car in a parking lot of a shopping center. The kicker was that her twin two year olds were in the backseat and the car remained on the whole time. She was charged with a DWI, child abuse, and resisting a police officer, but the latter charges were dropped.

She got hit with a suspended sentence of 24 months, and an active sentence of 30 days, but got credit for 30 days because of time she spent in a inpatient facility receiving treatment. She was also fined $2,500 and $600 for tests.

Solo got assessed for substance abuse and required to complete treatments for her alcohol problems. She says she didn’t realize how big of a problem alcohol had become in her life, and realizes how big a mistake she made, but is learning from everything.

Solo also had been in legal trouble before in 2014, but all charges were dropped.
