Casino 888 and Microgaming team up in the UK

One of the UK's leading casino companies, 888, has signed an exciting new gaming partnership with software manufacturer Microgaming. Microgaming is renowned for some of the most memorable progressive jackpots in the online casino world.

888 has many of its own slots that the company has developed in-house. 888 has also partnered with NetEnt, Evolution Gaming and others, but this is the first time the company has turned to another leading iGaming developer - Microgaming.

888 plans to roll out Microgaming products both in its home market in the United Kingdom, but is looking to expand further in Denmark and in the newly regulated online casino industry in Sweden. Microgaming offers many franchised slot machines such as Game of Thrones, Jurassic World and a host of table games.

The company has also created some of the most famous progressive jackpots to name four different versions of Mega Moolah, King Cashalot and Jackpot Deuces. The Microgaming network has drawn over $150 million in Mega Moolah prizes alone, making it one of the biggest.

The UK, Denmark and Sweden are not the only markets where 888 operates and the company's portfolio is targeting forays into Spain and Italy, despite a rather tighter regulatory climate.

Microgaming and 888 open up new opportunities

Microgaming CEO John Coleman has expressed confidence in Microgaming's prospects as a dominant force in the iGaming market. Here's what he said when commenting on the latest deal between his company and 888:

"I am confident that this will be the start of a positive strategic relationship that will further strengthen the Microgaming brand across Europe, and I look forward to providing 888 with even more of our innovative and popular content in the coming months.

Outperforming negative forecasts, 888 has delivered solid financial results, despite continued prosecution in tough legal markets.

The casino managed to earn $317.6 million in 2018, a decent amount. The last time 888's financial performance suffered was in 2016, but even then revenue continued to grow, although profits slowed slightly.

The company has also found partners in other dynamic markets, including Bulgaria and Colombia, as well as others that overlap with 888's own operations, i.e. the so-called foreign casinos of Denmark and Sweden, or as the Danes themselves call them udenlandske casinoer.

The company has also raided its poker and casino platform across the Atlantic in places like New Jersey, and 888 is already ready to launch its offering in Pennsylvania in mid-2019, when the state gives final approval.

Meanwhile, Microgaming continues to grow, entering new markets and looking to strengthen its presence in existing locations. Microgaming entered the Czech Republic in February by teaming up with local betting operator Tipsport.

The company has also found partners in other dynamic markets, including Bulgaria and Colombia, as well as others that overlap with 888's own operations, i.e. Denmark and Sweden.
