Flutter Entertainment has announced that it will acquire British bingo provider Tombola. The deal involves a sum of £402 million (equivalent to €479 million). What changes Tombola will undergo at the product level as a result has not been disclosed.

Acquisition of Tombola by Flutter confirmed

Last Thursday, Flutter Entertainment, owner of PokerStars and Betfair, announced the news.

Flutter already has a whole list of online casinos under its belt, and now specifically with Tombola, a bingo provider must be added.

Tombola is already the largest bingo provider in several countries in Europe: in the United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy, it is the market leader. Since October, Tombola has also accepted Dutch players. As well you can find it at online casino India.

The addition of Tombola to its portfolio, therefore, gives Flutter several strategic advantages, increasing its market position in the international online gaming market.

Acquisition of Tombola by Flutter confirmed

In a press release, Peter Jackson said he was pleased with the acquisition and looked forward to the addition of Tombola to the iGaming group:

'As one of the larger iGaming operators, Flutter is delighted to add Tombola, the market leader in bingo in the UK, to our portfolio. Tombola is a provider we hold in very high regard thanks to its far-reaching product expertise, extensive customer base, and focus on responsible gaming. The brand is therefore closely aligned with Flutter's strategy to offer safe online gambling’.

For members of Tombola, nothing will change. All Tombola accounts will remain active, and a credit will remain valid.
