This is a season from hell for the Las Vegas Raiders. Henry Ruggs’ situation, Jon Gruden’s emails, and somehow they are still leading the division…

Anyways, it appears that Damon Arnette (who was taken seven picks after Ruggs) is being sued for an accident that he allegedly caused. The accident happened over a year ago (Oct. 14, 2020) just before 7:30 in the morning as Arnette was running late for practice.

TMZSports reported from court papers, that the suit is for more than the $92,000 in damage that happened to her car.

The initial report says the docs detail that Arnette thought that he had missed his turn into the Raiders’ facility, so he swerved at around 65 MPH in order to still make the entrance. The woman says that the driver’s side of his car hit her driver’s side violently and caused significant damage to both rides.

The file also states that Arnette “illegally left the scene of the crash” and just kept on keeping on to Raiders’ headquarters. Police records (also obtained by TMZ) state that Arnette was cited for the crash and police say that he admitted to making the unsafe right turn and crashing. Though the difference is that he claims that he stayed long enough to check in on the woman while the police docs say that Arnette had a friend stay to deal with any fallout.

Arnette’s attorney told the website, “Mr. Arnette denies the allegations in the complaint and looks forward to addressing these claims through the court process.”

The victim in the story is claiming that she suffered several injuries in the accident — including head trauma — and is now also dealing with shoulder, neck, and back pain as well as depression and the onset of panic attacks.

The accident sounds very real. The added injuries sounds like a money grab. I am not a legal expert so my opinion means shit, but just saying.

With all that is going on with the team, Arnette certainly does not need to be back in the headlines, especially with how his season has been going.
