Goodfellas, Field of Dreams, Killing Them Softly, Copland, The Place Beyond the Pines, The Many Saints of Newark, and so many more amazing films. According to those close to the actor, he passed away last night, peacefully and in his sleep, at the young age of sixty-seven, TMZ reported today in an exclusive story.

Liotta was in the Dominican Republic, filming for a new movie called Dangerous Waters, when he died, and his fiancé Jacy Nittolo was with him in the Dominican Republic while he was on set shooting the movie.

Liotta’s most iconic role will always be his portrayal of Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese’s 1990 mob classic, Goodfellas, for which he earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a leading role. Liotta also played Shoeless Joe Jackson in Field of Dreams. Those two roles proved to open huge doors for him as an actor, as he worked steadily since, demonstrating his immense talent as an actor in many more roles leading up to his death.

According to information given to TMZ, the actor died of natural causes and nothing suspicious surrounded his death.

Rest In Peace to one of the great acting talents film has seen, Ray Liotta.
