A Florida high school track meet turned into a street fight as one runner decided that losing was not an option, but punching someone was.

The so-far unidentified runner made the choice that hearing “on your left” was simply too much to bear and made his move. With his fist.

To the TAPE:

While the video is super grainy, some internet sleuthing leads to the conclusion that the uniform is that of Cypress Creek High School. Thankfully, Cypress Creek did take part in the Tohopekaliga Tiger Invitational, according to race results, so that guess is probably accurate.

More details about the situation are coming to light, as witnesses told TMZ that the runner in white –who was leading the race — yelled at the athlete in the black uniform to move out of the way.

According to the statements, when the race leader came around the next lap, the runner from what we believe is Cypress Creek got in the way and caused the incident.

Getting lapped has to be tough. Especially in a 1600m race.

That still doesn’t seem like a good reason to escalate to violence.
