Oh Boy, the Owner of “America’s Team” has angered the Little People of America with his use of the m-word, not something I’m gonna throw in the blog, but the word in question is a derogatory term for people with dwarfism.
On Tuesday Jerry was reminiscing on memories with the former scouting director of the Cowboys, Larry Lacewell, who passed away recently. He was speaking to reporters and was quoted saying, “I’m going to get me somebody, a [M-word], to stand up there with me and dress him up like Lace and think Lace is still out here helping at practice with us”.
People were not happy and say the word he chose to use is derogatory and offensive to that community. The Little People of America responded with the following. “The dwarfism community has voiced that they prefer to be referred to as dwarfs, little people, people of short stature or having dwarfism, or simply, and most preferably, by their given name”.
Later that night Jones apologized saying, “Earlier today I made a reference which I understand may have been viewed as offensive. I apologize”.
Pretty fast apology, and it doesn’t sound like people are super man at him. The billionaire still does have a lot on his plate though, as the Cowboys continue to disappoint year in and year out. Boom roasted.
