New Chicago Bears’ wide receiver was arrested this past weekend before even playing a single snap for his new team or getting his Cheesy Gordita Crunch. While in his hometown of Gainesville, Texas, David Moore was taken into custody late July 3rd after being found passed out in the driver’s seat of his Ford F250 while in the Taco Bell drive-thru.

When police found the unconscious wideout, they searched his car, finding a package of THC-infused gummies and three unlicensed pistols. Yep, three. The police report also mentions Moore smelled of marijuana during questioning.

Moore was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying of weapons. He was released July 4th after posting $5,000 bail.

The 27-year-old  receiver just recently signed a one-year, $1.04 million dollar contract with the Bears this offseason after spending 2021 hopping around four teams, most notably the Green Bay Packers as a returner.

With this arrest, Moore becomes the third recently signed Chicago Bear to have legal troubles before suiting up. Fellow receiver Byron Pringle was arrested back in April for reckless driving after doing donuts in a Florida parking lot with a child in the backseat and a suspended license. Even more so, linebacker Matt Adams was charged with misdemeanor firearm possession in Chicago last month after a police search of his vehicle found a high-capacity magazine and metal-piercing bullets.

Clearly the Bears are having all sorts of trouble, but who knows, maybe Justin Fields will be the answer.
