Seven licensed mobile online betting sites in eastern U.S. state of New York grossed nearly $2 billion combined in their first 30 days of operation, according to casinoudenrofus.info.

According to a New York Post report published Monday, citing official data from the New York State Gaming Commission, the figures brought in more than $138 million in gross revenue for the operators, as well as about $70.6 million in related state revenue from the 51 percent tax rate. The source also specified that the final figure of $1.98 billion includes more than $600 million in soccer betting, as well as about $540 million and $80 million in basketball and hockey betting, respectively.

Double Success:

New York City is home to more than 20 million people, and as of the morning of Jan. 8, residents and visitors were reportedly allowed to place remote bets on a wide range of sports events. Reportedly, such fans can now bet on sports at WynnBet.com, FanDuel.com, BetRivers.com, WilliamHill.com, PointsBet.com, DraftKings.com and BetMGM.com, mobile-friendly sites, with these domains getting off to a fast start, raising about $1.17 billion collectively in just 16 days.

Continued confidence:

New York Governor Kathy Hochul used an official press release issued Monday to applaud the 30-day numbers, but additionally said that the impressive numbers do not include Sunday's Super Bowl LVI extravaganza, as they will not be known until next week. Under legislation ratified last year, the 63-year-old Democrat also said that any state revenue generated from online sports betting would be used to fund a number of tax credits, education and youth sports programs in addition to compulsive gambling treatment schemes.

Hochul's statement...

"Over the past month, we've seen how mobile sports betting can be an economic engine for New York City and provide significant funding for our schools, youth sports and more. As this new industry continues to grow, New York will make sure we have all the resources and guidance we need to make it a success for everyone."

Fascinating enthusiasm:

For his part, Robert Williams, executive director of the New York State Gaming Commission, explained that the state's seven licensed online sports betting services used more than 1.76 million unique player accounts for approximately 187 million wagers over a 30-day period. He also noted that the data came from fraud prevention and cybersecurity specialist GeoComply Solutions Incorporated, which was contracted to ensure that all betting was done only by players who were physically located within New York City.

Williams' statement read.

"With Governor Hochul launching mobile sports betting on Jan. 8, there is no doubt that interest in online sports betting in the Empire State, which just set a national record for monthly tax revenues, is very high."
