The XFL is birthing rivalries, and we have a good one here as the league’s two undefeated teams from Texas will take each other this Sunday in Houston. The Roughnecks have established themselves as the XFL’s team to beat as former Troy quarterback Brandon Silvers led Houston to a 33-12 beat down over the Orlando Guardians last weekend. The Roughnecks’ roster is loaded with former BCS talent. It showed as former LSU receiver Jontre Kirklin and former USC receiver Deontay Burnett exploded for over 150 yards between the two. Led by former Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, it’s no surprise that Houston has assembled and developed talent that will most likely be playing NFL football come fall.

Arlington is a different story. The Renegades are coached by Oklahoma legend Bob Stoops, and while they might not have the fireworks Houston has on their offense, they play a brand of sound defensive football. The Renegades have former NFL players Doug Costin and Bruce Hector on their defensive line and a bunch of former college standouts in their secondary. This game comes down to this…Wade Phillips or Bob Stoops. Vegas likes the Roughnecks -5, and they should win by more than a touchdown. Wade Phillips is a legend around Houston for a reason, and in a packed stadium, expect the Roughneck offense to get ahead quickly. Want to put some money in your pocket for a long weekend? Take the money line on the Roughnecks and get $200 if you pick the winner!
