Bob Stoops is considered by many to be an all-time great, and he is stepping in to coach Oklahoma for its bowl game after Lincoln Riley bolted for USC and before Brent Venables officially takes over. Bob Stoops is also a partner in Rock n Roll Tequila.
So… when the team wins the Alamo Bowl against Oregon, he said that he is all good with a little product placement. A shooter or two… or hell, the whole five-gallon cooler.
I mean… he is right… what would the Oklahoma administration do? He isn’t an employee, he is basically just doing them a really cool favor. It’s a PR move, essentially.
“That would be OK,” said a laughing Stoops. “What’s the administration gonna do? Fire me?”
Stoops is returning to the sidelines after five years away, coaching on an interim basis, Oregon will also be led by an interim coach, Bryan McClendon, whom Stoops also plans to share spirits with.
“I’ll be sending Bryan some when the game’s over. Some Rock N Roll tequila,” he said.
Oklahoma is currently a 6.5 point favorite, so the odds are that they will be burying some booze. And… well… same!
