Drew Barrymore Apologizes After “Insensitive” Comments About Depp v. Heard Trial

The Johnny Depp and Amber Heard lawsuit has been one of the most talked about things in entertainment over the past few weeks, as the televised trial has exposed tons of information about the former couple that the world probably didn’t need to know about. Everyone in Hollywood is either talking about it or taking sides, and Drew Barrymore is no different.

On her talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show, she had this to say:

“It’s like one layer of crazy, it’s a seven-layer dip of insanity. I know that these are two people’s real lives and I know what it’s like to have your life put out in public. I understand all the feelings, but they are actually offering up this information that nobody had to know. This is crazy!”

After saying this, Barrymore received tons of backlash from Twitter morons that claimed her comments on the matter were “insensitive,” causing her to post a one-minute apology video to Instagram to appease her critics.

Watch the apology here.

This is what Barrymore had to say:

“It has come to my attention that I have offended people with making light of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard and for that I just want to deeply apologize and appreciate everyone who spoke out because this can be a teachable moment for me and how I move forward and how I conduct myself. I can be a more thoughtful and better person moving forward because all I want to do is be a good person and I very much appreciate the depth of this, and I will grow and change from it. And I thank everyone helping me grow along the way and teaching me. Thank you.”

The Depp/Heard trial continues today, and we’re sure this isn’t the last of celebrity commentary we’ll hear about the case.
