Elon Musk’s biological son, Xavier Musk recently announced that she wants to now be recognized as a female, changing her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson. Gender isn’t the only change Vivian desires, she also wants nothing to do with the Musk name and desires to completely disassociate from her father, Elon.
Vivian recently turned 18 back in April, and up until now the relationship between her and Elon had been kept on the down-low. Elon has come out in support of the transgender community, but has been criticized for other opinions he holds, including his view on pronouns, calling them “an esthetic nightmare”.
Elon had Vivian and her twin brother Griffin with Justine Wilson during their marriage from 2000-2008.
Elon has become an influential figure to conservatives recently, being very active on Twitter and sharing his opinions that people on the opposite side of the political spectrum often take issue with. Given his controversial past and current status as a conservative figurehead, some dots can be connected and inferences made as to why Vivian wants to cut ties.
Elon hasn’t commented on this news as of yet, but the internet is holding its breath waiting to see what will happen.
