Monkeys Are Slaughtering Dogs In Revenge Killing Spree

That headline tho… but for real, monkeys in an Indian town have taken to capturing dogs and dropping them off buildings, trees, or bridges and to their death in a series of revenge killings that make gangwars look pretty lame.

An estimated 250 dogs have been systematically murdered by monkeys after a dog killed an infant monkey in the town. The monkeys are literally hunting down all the dogs in the area and exacting revenge.

The story was first reported on India’s News 18 website and has to be one of the wildest stories we have seen in some time.

Here are some of the details from their report:

‘Panic-stricken residents have also come under attack and say the acts of animal violence have been carried out ‘in revenge’ after a pack of dogs killed one of the monkeys’ infants.

The horrific incidents have been reported in the villages of Majalgaon, where 250 dogs are said to have been killed by rampaging primates, and nearby Lavul in Maharashtra’s Beed district.

Villagers have reported that monkeys set upon dogs as soon as they see them before taking them up to a high place – the top of a building or a tree – and dropping them to their death.’

This is a fascinating situation, while obviously insane, but really shows the lengths that these animals are willing to go to in order to defend their family units.

What is worrisome is that the monkeys seem to be enjoying this and have turned their attention to killing humans, as the report explains:

‘Clearly not content with the extermination of the dogs in the village, monkeys are now said to be going after young children.

School children are reportedly being attacked by the monkeys, creating a further sense of panic among the villagers.’
