Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has been a pretty vocal personality on most everything in the last few years.
He has really ramped up his activism, as has many people, even weighing in last week about Aaron Rodgers and his stance against the vaccine, saying Rodgers was “putting innocent lives in danger” by opting against vaccinating.
Gotta tell you, it seems like an odd choice of words given the following information:
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 29-year-old son stabbed a neighbor — a man more than twice his age — resulting in a serious injury that nearly cost the neighbor his life.
On Wednesday, Adam Abdul-Jabbar received a mere slap on the wrist for the bloody attack. The younger Abdul-Jabbar, who apparently prefers knives to his dad’s skyhooks, was sentenced to just six months in jail.
For what you ask? He was pissed about garbage cans.
Yup.
Adam Abdul-Jabbar received the light sentence for attacking his 60-year-old neighbor because of a dispute over trash cans. Following the incident, Adam decided against the traditional angry neighbor routine of building a fence or letting his dog regularly fertilize the neighboring yard.
Instead, he stabbed the man in the back of the head multiple times.
Abdul-Jabbar’s neighbor suffered a fractured skull in the attack and nearly died from a loss of blood. He even passed out in the emergency room.
That, to me, seems like putting an innocent life in danger.
“This slap on the wrist is an absolute miscarriage of justice,” Todd Spitzer, the district attorney said following sentencing.
But, hey, so long as Adam is vaccinated he is fine. At least according to his dad.
