Peter Dinklage is… to steal a line from Elf … an angry Elf. Or dwarf, as he stands 4-foot-5, and has achondroplasia, a common form of dwarfism.

Anyways… he is pissed that there is about to be a remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The Game of Thrones actor called the studio hypocritical for casting a Latina actress but still telling a story with a “fucking backwards” depiction of dwarfs. The new movie will star West Side Story actress Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen.

“Literally no offense to anyone, but I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White. But you’re still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there. It makes no sense to me,” Dinklage said in the latest episode of Marc Maron’s WTF Podcast.

“I guess I’m not loud enough,” he continued. “I don’t know which studio that is but they were so proud of it. All love and respect to the actress and all the people who thought they were doing the right thing. But I’m just like, what are you doing?”

Dinklage added that the production is only “progressive in one way,” but is still telling a “fucking backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a care together, what the fuck are you doing, man?”

The new Snow White and Seven Dwarfs movie, with no release date yet, has added other top line talents to surround Zegler and Gadot with Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man) directing, and Marc Platt producing.

The songwriting team of Benji Pasek and Justin Paul (La La LandDear Evan Hansen) are writing new songs for the production, while Tony-nominated actor Andrew Burnap was recently cast in a male role that will (most likely) require him to sing.

Back to Dinklage, who continued to throw out the f-bombs, saying that he would only be interested if there was a “fucked up, cool or progressive spin on it.” Which… it doesn’t sound like there will be.
