I like competition. In anything. I love sports. Because of the competition. I also like competitive cooking shows. A lot.
So competitive love shows… well, not my usual go-to… but, I don’t hate them. Okay, I like them. Okay… I watched ‘Love is Blind’ the first time and then the second. Shayne Jansen annoyed the hell out of me in the second season.
Now, Shayne is more annoying because he is jacked. To completely steal a joke from Greg Behrendt… Shayne is ‘ripped like Jesus’ …
TO THE TAPE… A Before-Now-WHAT Edition.
I hate this man.
He wrote on socials, “It’s amazing when you prioritize yourself and you look as good as you feel. I’ve come a long way in a year and I can finally say I truly love myself.”
Hate. Seething hatred.
In Season 2 of Love is Blind — which premiered on Netflix in February — Shayne (somehow) dated both Natalie Lee and Shaina Hurley. He ultimately became engaged to Natalie — even after she should have ditched him in the third episode when he confused her for Shaina). Anyways, the pair did not go through with their wedding. For her part, Shaina accepted a proposal from Kyle Abrams, another man that she flirted with non-stop just to stay on the show longer. They too later split. She claimed it was due to their differences regarding religion but it was because she didn’t really like him, but also didn’t want to leave the show and not get picked.
During the Season 2 reunion we learned that the annoying duo of Shayne and Shaina (predictably) got together after the show ended.
Shayne took to Instagram after the episode to pen a lengthy message for Natalie and tried to set the record straight on those romance rumors with Shaina.
“From our first date eating in-n-out and you getting both milkshakes to our walks around grant park, You are the most beautiful soul and you really brought out the best in me as a man,” he wrote.
He went on to write that after reflecting on some of the more ridiculous moments they experienced together, he is “remorseful” over his actions. Of course he said that. He looked like a total tool on the show.
Anyways, the reality “star” continued, “all I can do is learn from them to be a better man. I’m proud of being vulnerable and being as genuine as possible.”
