College Football Week 1 was full of BIG upsets, sick plays, and smiles as college football is officially back. Here are some of the major headlines coming out of the weekend:
Colorado Upsets TCU:
Deion Sanders started his career at Colorado with a BIG win on the road at National Champion runner-up TCU. The dynamic duo of Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter caught everyone’s attention in the early Saturday games. Sanders son, Shedeur, passed for over 500 yards and 4 TDs as they upset TCU.
The biggest news was Travis Hunter playing both sides of the ball and making an impact. He is a created Madden player and it doesn’t seem real. It’s almost like he’s playing high school football where the best player plays offense, defense, and special teams. He is unbelievable and threw himself into the Heisman race with 1 game.
This is also the coolest thing that a coach has ever done in the history of organized sport:
Notre Dame Might Be Good (Seriously): Notre Dame has a quarterback and a good defense. You probably have heard the latter before, but never the first part. From the looks of it, Sam Hartman looks like the real deal from his first two starts. They have played nobodies, but they could have a chance to make the College Football Playoff after LSU and Clemson both got upset.
Clemson and LSU: Both preseason Top-10’s have let down their fan base. LSU looked terrible while Clemson looked the same after promising their fans a “revamped offense” under Garret Riley. From what we saw last night, the offense was stagnant and some people might need to apologize to DJ Uiagalelei who balled out at Oregon State over the weekend. LSU looked like a team that hadn’t practiced all off-season and just thought they would pick up where they left off.
