A College Girl’s “Notes” App

If you can gain access to a girl’s notes app, you would have the ability to single handedly ruin her life. Without even trying, we have turned our notes app into a cryptic and telling story.

Similar to a diary, the things we put into our notes app are not meant to be shared as public information. The notes app is a place to store quick thoughts we know we’ll forget along with lists and codes we need to remember.

In a 20 something year old girl’s notes you’ll find

Every Password:

Unless she uses the same word, number and exclamation point in that order for all of her accounts, you will in fact find her logins for almost any site in the notes app. Do not use this information for evil.

Draft Texts:

If you were ever in a fight with a friend or broke up with a significant other via text, odds are the draft text is still in your notes. Drafting a text in your notes is something us girls learn to do at a very early age. You can not present your argument without typing it all out in your notes first. This is the key to winning an argument.

Booze Order:

This is a list of alcohol she was sent out to get once and still somehow forgot someone’s twelve.

Pass to Friend:

These notes are things we typed out in an intimate setting when we need to tell our friend something but can’t say it out loud. The 21st Century version of passing notes in class.

Colleges:

The infamous list of colleges you wanted to go to as a young, innocent, prospective student. Is the school you go to now even on there?

Party Addies:

These are just random notes that have multiple party addresses. It would be funny to pin all these addresses on a map and see where these random saved locations have brought us through the years.

Drunk Words:

In this case, drunk words in our notes are not sober thoughts. The drunk words in our notes app are something that the sober version of us could not even interpret.

Places:

Hidden between text drafts and booze orders are the random stores and coffee shops you wanted to check out. But even though you jotted it down…you still forgot to go to.

THE List:

A list of all the guys she’s hooked up with, usually in chronological order which may or may not include a rating.

(Good Will Hunting reference)

Instagram Captions:

This note usually dates back to in and around 2014 – 2015 and consists of song lyrics we thought would slap as Instagram Captions. Bonus points if you can look back on your posts and see if you used one of them.

Math:

Not interesting, but you will find random notes of us doing some simple math in there. The math in our notes ranges from us using the drawing feature to add like a third grader to our friends running tally of debt they owe us.

Every once and a while, it’s funny to scroll your notes and look back on all the gibberish and nonsensical words we once NEEDED to jot down.

I highly suggest having a wine night with your closest girlfriends where you pass around each other’s phones and read these notes out loud. There’s no better way to get to know someone on a deeper level than by reading their notes. There will be nothing but laughs when you read out loud all the embarrassing drunken thoughts your friends have within the app.
