Daniel jones just absolutely robbed the bank of the Giant’s front office with the outrageous contract he just received. In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past week Danny dimes just absolutely broke the Giants bank account with a 4 year $160,000,000 deal. Let me be perfectly clear as a lifelong Eagles fan I couldn’t be happier that the giants are paying a low to mid-tier quarterback to be the face of one of my least favorite franchises in all of football is great for my birds.
But I can’t help but ask why? Who the hell in the Giant’s front office thought 15 touchdowns in 16 games is deserving of 140 million? I understand that over his past 4 seasons in the league, he’s played decent football on a pretty shitty team I’ll give him credit where it’s due. Still not making the playoffs except for one year of being in the league is really not a good look for a 140-million-dollar contract.
But then again what other option did the Giants really have? The Giants simply waited too long in free agency to get any decent QB at an ok price. The free agent QB market in the NFL this offseason was crazy with way better quarterbacks who would’ve accepted way less money than they paid Danny boy. But again half of the quarterbacks by the time the giants went searching were already gone to other teams.
In summary, the Giants absolutely spent a bag on a half-decent quarterback who is slowly on the come-up. But 140 million dollars in my opinion is just too damn expensive for a quarterback like Jones. The giants need improvements on both sides of the ball if they want any chance of playing in a Superbowl. And spending all that money on a quarterback is just fucking stupid. But I don’t really give a fuck at the end of the day. FUCK THE GIANTS, GO BIRDS.
