Before all, you guys get your panties in a knot. Yes, Tiger Woods is the greatest of all time. That is exactly why the title said “decade’, meaning last 10 years. While underperforming in PGA tour events, he absolutely runs the table in Majors. The 33-year-old golfer won his first Major in 2017 and has since added 4 more. His first 2 were back-to-back U.S Opens, followed by a PGA Championship. He then won the PGA Championship in 2019 and another in 2023.
Brooks might not have consistent PGA tour events, but he is always in the running during Majors. He was second in the Masters this year, leading after 54 holes and choking the green jacket to Jon Rahm. He followed that choke job with an absolute masterclass during this years PGA Championship.
Brooks Koepka finished nine-under-par to claim victory in the PGA Championship. He secured a two-shot lead over his compatriot Scottie Scheffler and Norway’s Viktor Hovland, who both put up a strong fight throughout the day. This win is particularly significant as Koepka becomes the first golfer to win a major while playing on the LIV Golf Series.
With this victory, Koepka joins the elite company of Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus as the only golfers to win the PGA Championship three or more times in the strokeplay era and becomes the 20th golfer to win five or more men’s majors.
If you don’t consider that “GOAT” of the last 10 years, I don’t know who would fit that mold. To make things even better, Brooks is a likable guy.
