Don’t look now, but we have a GILF showdown starting on social media and we are all here for it.
“Shark Tank” star Barbara Corcoran paid homage to Martha Stewart’s historic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover by imitating it in a revealing Instagram selfie. Corcoran posed in a white swimsuit and orange cover-up, similar to Stewart’s one-piece on her Sports Illustrated cover.
The 74-year-old star captioned the photo, “I can’t cook, but I sure can swim.” She also playfully challenged her followers by asking, “You’ve seen Martha Stewart… but have you seen me?” Corcoran tagged Stewart, who at 81 years old, became the oldest person ever to grace the Swimsuit Issue cover.
Previously, the record was held by Elon Musk’s mother, Maye Musk, at the age of 75. Alongside Stewart, three other stars featured on the 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit covers are actress Megan Fox, trans pop singer Kim Petras, and model Brooks Nader, the winner of the SI Swim Search competition in 2019.
This is the greatest internet trend since the inception of the internet. I personally nominate Sarah Palin, Goldie Hawn, and Suzanne Somers to join Martha and Barbara in doing this. I have always wanted to go on Shark Tank to see Mark Cuban, but now I wanna go for another reason and Barbara Corcoran is the reason.
Also, we need to have a serious conversation about what goes on in the Instagram comment sections. I was scrolling through those comments and there were a lot of people who need to go to church. There are a lot of things that go on through your brain when you see something like this, but it’s another thing to let those thoughts out on social media. I fear there is a large majority of America who don’t realize what a digital footprint is.
